E.G.LEWIS GROUP SUPPORT CAER LAS HOMELESS HOSTEL

E.G.Lewis Group are proud to announce our support to Caer Las alongside SA1UTE - in which included quality gents clothing donated by employees.

Caer Las, is a registered charity tackling the causes of homelessness through working with socially excluded and vulnerable people in the heart of Swansea city centre since 1975. The charity has provided it’s support to thousands of people in Wales in which has allowed them to get on with their lives.

Caer Las Cymru run a range of projects including supported accommodation for single people aged between 18 & 64 who require both accommodation and support across three South Wales counties, Carmarthenshire, Swansea, and Neath-Port Talbot. There is an Outreach Project for single people who are homeless, or who feel they may be at risk of becoming homeless that provides friendly drop-in sessions offering practical advice and support on topics such as housing, benefits, finances, substance misuse and settling into a home.

Trampface was formed back in 2014 by Lee West & Paul O'Dwyer in order to raise awareness on the amount of ex-military men & women who are sadly living on our streets. After 4 years and raising over £40,000 they decided to start a local not for profit organisation called SA1UTE with some other selfless fundraisers. This organisation is aimed at helping veterans within South Wales to get back on their feet, provide a helping hand and offer support where it's needed most.

Business Development & Marketing Co-ordinator, Ben Jenkins came to SA1UTE with a generous offer of very good quality gents clothing and in great quantities, with Paul O’Dwyer of SA1UTE suggesting Caer Las, a charity that he himself has supported over the past eight years.

Paul O’Dwyer, Trampface & SA1UTE had this to say in relation to the support provided to the homeless hostel:

“The clothing donated by E.G.Lewis Group was greatly appreciated by Janet & the team at Caer Las.

Janet (Manager of Caer Las Cymru) did suggest that there is a desperate requirement for single bed sheets, If anyone would like to support Caer Las with clothing or single bedding then please drop the team a message on 01792 674855”.

Back in February, E.G.Lewis Group's Ben Jenkins & Lavana Scoberg participated alongside Team Tata Steel in The Wave’s ‘Cold Truth’ sleep out in order to raise awareness and help tackle homelessness in Swansea by raising money for four local charities - Zac’s Place, Llamau, Trampface and Matthew’s House.
