The Liberty Stadium played host to The Wave’s ‘Cold Truth’ sleep out on Wednesday 20th February, in support of four of the city’s homeless charities.

The event aimed to raise awareness and help tackle homelessness in Swansea by raising money for four local charities - Zac’s Place, Llamau, Trampface and Matthew’s House, in which E.G. Lewis Group’s Ben Jenkins & Lavana Scoberg participated alongside Team Tata Steel.

Housing charity Shelter reported that at least 25,937 people experienced homelessness across Wales in 2017/18 – which is 3% higher than the previous year’s statistics. Whilst noting that 1,497 in Port Talbot alone were homeless over the same period.

We were able to raise £610.00 towards Tata Steel’s fundraising target of £2,000.00 which has been surpassed.

While the event was not a true comparison to how homeless people live, we at E.G. Lewis Group hope that by raising awareness of the issue it will help raise funds for the projects that tackle homelessness
