STUART ANSWERS NHS VOLUNTEERING CALL

South Wales based specialist industrial contractor, E.G. Lewis Group, is joining the national effort to tackle coronavirus (COVID-19) by giving time as an NHS volunteer.

Stuart Williams, who is a supervisor in the Group’s Roofing and Cladding division, has registered as a volunteer driver to help deliver essential healthcare services in and around the Neath & Port Talbot region. Demonstrating the kind of responsible business behaviour that is now more vital than ever, E.G.Lewis Group has agreed to provide a company vehicle and cover all fuel costs to support Stuart’s efforts. The Williams family is helping in other ways too – Stuart's wife works within the local care system.

The Group’s support for NHS volunteering comes at a hugely important time. The nation is looking for up to 250,000 volunteers to help up to 1.5 million people who have been asked to shield themselves from coronavirus because of underlying health conditions. Stuart, and others, will be actively supporting people in need by:

• delivering medicines from pharmacies;
• driving patients to appointments;
• bringing patients home from hospital;
• making regular phone calls to check on people isolating at home.
