E.G. LEWIS GROUP WELCOME APPRENTICE FABRICATOR WELDER

Skelton Thomas Engineering on behalf of E.G. Lewis Group are delighted to announce the employment of the first apprentice within our Structural Division.

18 year old Keelan Brown, who will begin his studies at NPTC Group of Colleges Neath in September has joined the group as an apprentice fabricator welder via Pathways Training.

Pathways Training is the work-based learning department of NPTC Group of Colleges, and is one of eight training providers that form Skills Academy Wales. We work with our partner organisations to provide a broad range of industry-recognised qualifications across Mid and South-West Wales.

Pathways Training works with employers to provide ESF-funded workplace training opportunities so that learners can gain industry-recognised qualifications whilst gaining valuable experience in the workplace. Learners earn a wage whilst also benefiting from gaining job specific skills through working with experienced staff; they also receive additional support from our staff to achieve their qualifications.

Employers can also benefit from off-the-job training to equip employees with the knowledge and accreditation specific to the industry which can result in increased productivity.

Robert Hornblower, Fabrication Co-ordinator had this to say with regards to the career-learning opportunity:

“We are delighted to welcome Keelan to the Skelton Thomas Engineering’s structural division as an apprentice fabricator welder.

“Once again, this work-based learning scheme highlights our ongoing support which is provided towards career-learning opportunities for young individuals across South Wales”.
