E.G.LEWIS GROUP SUPPORT TATA STEELMAN EVENT

E.G.Lewis Group are proud to have provided our support towards Tata Steelman Triathlon – hosted at the Eglwys Nynydd Reservoir in Margam on Sunday 19^th May, 2019.

Back on the calendar after a three-year absence thanks to the efforts of the Port Talbot Harriers and TATA Steel multi-sport clubs, the Steelman produced, as it always has, some high-quality performances. The TATA Steelman is a standard and sprint distance triathlon. It consists of a lake Swim, flat bike ride and run which forms part of the Welsh Triathlon Championships.

There has been a significant amount of groundworks in order to facilitate the four-hundred competitors that will amass on Tata Steel’s Egwlys reservoir in Port Talbot. A mayday call was sent out to several contracting companies including Skelton Thomas Engineering, who came to the rescue. A total of fifty-two boats have had to be re-positioned in order to accommodate the transition area and therefore fifty-two holding down stakes were required to tie down the boats at their new temporary location.
