E.G. Lewis Group are proud to announce that we will be mentoring Ysgol Bae Bagaln in the South West Wales Business Class Cluster Collaboration Event - CRE8, in partnership with Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest & Careers Wales on Monday 3rd December, 2018.
Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest provides all householders in Wales with access to advice and support to help them reduce their energy bills. This includes a referral for eligible householders for a package of free home energy efficiency measures such as a new boiler, central heating system, loft or cavity wall insulation, or renewable technologies.
These preliminary sessions will take place across a number of secondary schools in Wales. During the school sessions, students will work together in teams with one team going forward to represent their school at the Final Event.
Students will need to take into consideration the full brief of Energy Efficiency and the ‘need’ for such a product ultimately building a prototype. With the teams will be judged not only on their design and success of their prototype but also their team name, how they work together as a team and their presentation of their final product.
Most importantly, all of the students who participate will have the opportunity to develop many work related skills including, teamwork, communication, problem solving, resilience and creative thinking.
The aim of the preliminary sessions is to provide the young people involved with the opportunity to take part in an activity which enables them to develop work and personal skills. They will also gain additional knowledge of Energy Efficiency, design and about how STEM subjects apply to different careers.
