E.G. LEWIS GROUP PLEDGE TO RESTART A HEART DAY

16 OCTOBER 2018 13:35

E.G. Lewis Group are proud to announce our commitment towards Restart a Heart Day on Tuesday 16th October, 2018.

Restart a Heart is a designated yearly day of action with the aim to teach vital life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills to as many people as possible.

This year, Restart a Heart is going global! For the first time, it will be called World Restart a Heart under the oversight of ILCOR – with support from resuscitation councils covering America (North, Central and South), Canada, South Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, as well as Europe. Once again, it will take place on 16 October, although events will occur on and around that date.

Across the UK, there are over 30,000 cardiac arrests outside of hospital every year, but the survival rate is less than 1 in 10. Learn what to do if you find someone unconscious and not breathing. It all starts with calling 999

On Friday 28th September, 2018 E.G. Lewis Group announced that we had committed to providing automated external defibrillators (AED) across the business, including our headquarters in Llandarcy, Neath.

An AED is a device used to administer an electric shock through the chest wall to the heart. Built-in computers assess the patient's heart rhythm, judge whether defibrillation is needed, and then administer a shock if needed. Audible and/or visual prompts guide the user through the process.

Join us on Restart a Heart Day and learn how to save a life. When the stakes are this high, don't think twice, just try.
