E.G. LEWIS GROUP TO PARTICIPATE IN RICHARD BURTON 10K

E.G. Lewis Group are proud to announce that we have registered runners for the Richard Burton 10K run on Sunday 4^th November, this in support of our fundraising partner Velindre Cancer Centre.

This is one of the oldest races on the Welsh calendar. The race recognises the spirit and beauty of our famous Welsh valleys, with the spirit of the legend that is Richard Burton.

The partnership via Velindre will see E.G. Lewis Group engage in numerous fundraising events and activities over the next 12 months to raise vital funds for the Cancer Centre.

The money raised from E.G Lewis’s fundraising will be used to ensure the best possible support is offered to every patient, their families and carers dealing with cancer. It will help Velindre to fund ground breaking research, specialist equipment, and new developments so our staff have access to the most up to date training and techniques available.

We all know of family, friends and loved ones who have been touched by cancer. The incidence of cancer is rising by 2% each year in Wales with nearly 20,000 people diagnosed with this illness each year, and by 2020 one in two of us will develop cancer and 150,000 people will be living with a current or previous diagnosis of this disease.

Velindre staff strive every day to deliver the best cancer services through exceptional care, more people than ever are living with cancer – survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years through better treatments and earlier detection.
