Ben Lewis, estimator for Skelton Thomas Engineering has signed up to fight in a Ultra White Collar Boxing match on Saturday 28th March at the Liberty Stadium in aid of Cancer Research UK.
27-year old Ben from the Melin area of Neath, having been born without his right hand, has always been determined to perform manual tasks just as well, if not better as an able bodied person – with over twenty years of experience playing grass-roots rugby.
Ben’s one-year old son Evan is his biggest motivation in preparing for the fight, with him adding that:
“The best way I can inspire Evan is by setting the example to him, by teaching him that anything worth doing is going to be difficult and anything can be achieved with enough desire and the right attitude.”
Ultra-White Collar Boxing is the most established organisation in the UK, running over 1000 events since 2009. They’ve raised more money for charity, won more awards and are more conscientious about health and safety than any other organisation. They are Cancer Research UK’s biggest fundraisers in the UK raising over £20 Million.
