E.G.LEWIS GROUP BACK NPTC STUDENT WITH WORLD SKILLS MEDAL

E.G.Lewis Group, South Wales based specialist industrial contractor, were proud to support Curtis Rees, welding apprentice at NPTC Group of Colleges in receiving his gold medal at the World Skills UK event held at the NEC in Birmingham on Tuesday 26th November.

Apprentices and students from NPTC Group of Colleges have been battling it out with the best from across the UK to win top honours at this year’s at WorldSkills, which saw more than 500 apprentices and students compete in over 70 disciplines to be crowned the best in the UK in a vocational pathway.

Taking part in the competition equips young people with the world-class skills needed to help British businesses better compete globally. 24-year old Curtis, received the support of Skelton Thomas Engineering’s pipework division which supplied additional pipework lengths in order to assist with his award submission.

Curtis had this to say in relation to Skelton Thomas Engineering’s support:

“I would like to thank Dafyddd and the rest of the pipework division for donating the lengths of pipework to NPTC group of colleges.

I am delighted to be the first apprentice in Wales to come away with a gold medal and I certainly would not have achieved this without the support of Skelton Thomas Engineering.”
