Port Talbot-based Taibach RFC, a grassroots rugby and football club run by volunteers has been boosted by the support of South Wales based specialist industrial contractor, E.G.Lewis Group.
Taibach Rugby Football Club is a community club with two senior, one youth and ten mini and junior teams whilst being a feeder club to the Ospreys. Taibach RFC received funding this summer which has gone directly into the purchase of a new playing kit for the club’s under 7’s age group.
Taibach RFC has a history of producing young talent. Coached by Phill Terry and Steve Gadd the 1999-2003 team were a success. Whilst noting that in recent years Taibach have produced two full British & Irish Lions in James Hook and Richard Hibbard.
Steve Jenkins, Operations Manager at E.G. Lewis Group commented on the community investment:
“We are delighted to once again invest in this local community initiative as well as local sporting talent, and so we were more than happy to offer our support to a local neighbouring club such as Taibach RFC. With this investment into grassroots rugby, it will continue to support the talented players of the future.
“We wish the coaches and the under 7’s team the best of luck for the remainder of their season.”
