E.G.LEWIS GROUP SHORTLISTED FOR 2019 NOT A RED CARD AWARDS

13 SEPTEMBER 2019 15:40

E.G.Lewis Group, a South Wales based specialist industrial contractor, is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Innovative Use of Sport Award within Legal and General’s 2019 Not A Red Card Awards.

Fitness within the Workplace (FWTW), an employee well-being initiative alongside Llandarcy Academy of Sport and Resolution Strength & Condition, was formed back in May with the aim of creating an environment for our people relieve stress, anxiety and other mental health issues along with team bonding whilst building each individuals physical strength and conditioning abilities outside of the workplace.

The Innovative Use of Sport Award recognises companies from across the United Kingdom that has used sport in a unique way to raise awareness, educate or address mental health issues in the workplace.  We have been shortlisted for the award alongside School of Hard Knocks’ ‘Lets tackle Mental Health’ initiative and Newcastle United Foundation’s which encourages people in the city of Newcastle to talk openly about mental health and to provide tips on how to improve your physical and mental wellbeing.

Red Cards in sport are normally associated with bad behaviour, but we’re using it to show that it’s not a bad thing to talk about mental health in the workplace. Mental health, including stress, is one of the biggest causes of long and short term employee absences, so encouraging employers and employees to have more conversations will help limit its impact and improve wellbeing.

The winners will be announced at our Not A Red Card Forum & Awards on 1 October at the Kia Oval, London. Through informative panel debates, inspiring personal stories and workshops.

The award categories, which will award organisations and individuals alike for their efforts can be found below:
